Hey everyone this is Kirby Hasseman with the latest Monday Minute!
When it comes to any goal or journey, most of us want to find the 5 step process that will lead us to success. If you want to get in shape, we want the step by step process to make it happen. Those who want to write a book look for the 5 step process for a best seller. Or if you want to increase your sales, we want to create a sales process that is simple, easy to follow and guaranteed to work.
This makes sense. This is a good way for people to learn. So those of us who want to create content or educate try to make things fit in this box. But here’s the thing…almost nothing is that simple.
If you have been in sales for any period of time you know that every single customer journey is different. Regardless of how simple we try to make it, those pesky customers have lives outside of our sales funnel. Some of them go through it quickly…while others can take years. If we expect every journey to follow our 5 step process, we will get frustrated quickly and often.
In addition, the most interesting journeys don’t already have a path. You need to create it for yourself. So while you can learn from those that have done something similar before you, you have to carve it out on your own. Then…once you have succeeded, you can take all of the bumps, setbacks, failures, and challenges out of the story…and write your own 5 step process for others to follow.
Here’s to carving your own path. Thanks for watching the Monday Minute.
