Doing Work That Matters

A PromoCorner manifesto of sorts

5/20/2019 | Bill Petrie, Petrie's Perspective

Over the past few years, we at PromoCorner have radically changed the way we do business. More than just a simple rebranding – although that was a big part of it – we have shifted the way we go to market, offer our services, and even how we provide content to the industry. It’s always been my goal to move swiftly as these changes have been made. However, as a small business with budgets and limited resources, it’s not always possible to run as fast as desired, but we have done it as a team. As an old African proverb states, “if you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” To get to where we are today, we have gone together.

I’ve been with PromoCorner for just a hair over two years and the journey from then to now has been like any long journey: challenging, exhilarating, frustrating, but, ultimately, rewarding. I’m proud of the work we have done and even more proud of the team at PromoCorner. It’s a group that is knowledgeable, passionate, and, most of all, caring – and you can’t teach care.

About three hours after this blog becomes live on Monday, May 20, 2019, PromoCorner will share a press release to the industry that we have hired a Creative Director. On the surface this may seem like any other announcement of a staff addition, but I can assure you that it’s not. This hiring is a line of demarcation as PromoCorner moves from an industry service provider to an agency solely focused on creating work for our clients that matters.

While I will wait for the press release to come out to reveal the name of the new Creative Director, I will share that the search was exhaustive and focused on tremendous candidates both in and out of the promotional products industry.

So, why this and why now?

I know that if we wish to continue the PromoCorner journey, we have to be more than open to change – we have to drive it. PromoCorner has a long and rich history of being the leader in digital marketing services for the promotional products industry – that won’t change. What will change is that we will now take a much more active role in shaping the unique messaging of each client to move their respective target audiences to action. By having a knowledgeable, passionate, and innovative Creative Director driving that process, we believe we will elevate the work we do on behalf of our clients and, by proxy, elevate the industry.

At PromoCorner, we will continue to create work that is unique; we will continue to create work that is original; we will continue to create work that is effective; we will continue to create work that drives behavior; We will continue to create work that is contagious.

In short, we will continue do work for our clients that matter.
