Women's Business Enterprises Honors OmniSource Marketing's President

Janie Goldberg, president of Indianapolis-based OmniSource Marketing, received the nation's premier award for excellence among Women's Business Enterprises (WBEs) at The Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) Salute to Women's Business Enterprises in Baltimore, MD.

This honor is bestowed on 14 women business owners from across the county each year. The gala is the concluding event to WBENC’s annual Summit & Salute, which convenes more than 1,500 corporate and government executives, WBEs and members of WBENC’s Regional Partner Organizations (RPOs). Goldberg was recognized for her business accomplishments, her inspiration to other women, and her achievements at OmniSource Marketing.

"I am proud to receive this recognition from WBENC and look forward to serving as an advocate to other women in business," said Goldberg. "As a woman who graduated from college in the mid-1960s when the doors of corporate America were mostly closed to female executives, I had to respond to the world around me and turn to entrepreneurship. Almost 50 years later, it’s exciting to see how deeply committed corporations are to onboarding women business enterprises into the supply chain."

Goldberg has owned OmniSource Marketing since 1991 and serves as the company's president. In addition to running OmniSource, Janie also is active in the local, regional and national advancement of WBENC. In 2014, she was recognized as the WBE of the Year for WBENC in the Great Lakes. Janie also serves on The WBENC Forum, an advisory group to the president of WBENC, and as chair of the Central Indiana WBE Forum. She was recognized as Indiana Volunteer of the Year in 2014 for her efforts to aid WBEs in central Indiana.
