The Enemy Within

When you know your inner adversary, you can take steps to vanquish it

12/25/2017 | Bill Petrie, Petrie's Perspective

Without realizing it, many of us do battle with an enemy every day – an enemy that keeps us from achieving our goals, prevents us from climbing the ladder of success, or simply taking actions that we know are necessary to foster business growth. This enemy lies deep within each of us and it’s critical that we know and understand who this enemy is:

  • The enemy of great is good
  • The enemy of action is contemplation
  • The enemy of innovation is routine
  • The enemy of accomplishment is complacency
  • The enemy of creativity is conformity
  • The enemy of success is fear

When you know your inner adversary, you can take steps to vanquish it. However, if you don’t take the time to truly understand the enemy within that stops you from achieving your dreams, you will continue to tread water in a sea of mediocrity.
