One of my favorite podcasts is titled Happier. It’s hosted by Gretchen Rubin and her sister Elizabeth Craft. Every year, they encourage their listeners to create a list of what they would like to do that year. The number of items on the list is based on the last two digits of the current year.
One of the things I tell my coaching clients is that what gets written down, get’s done! In order to practice what I preach I’m sharing the start of my 2021 list with you.
Below are 10 things I really want to do or learn this year. Perhaps it will inspire you to make your own list. I’ll keep you posted as I add to my list.
Finish updating How to Make More Money in Promotional Products Sales book. Many years ago, I wrote a sales-training manual for the promotional products industry. I’m updating it now with the latest information on how to sell in a digital world, and when it’s completed, I’m making it available as a digital download. I’ll keep you posted when it’s ready.
Exercise for a least 30 minutes every day. I recently got an Apple watch. The watch makes it so much easier for me to track my exercise. So far, I’ve been closing all the exercise rings on the watch every day, but it’s only January! I just came back from an hour-long walk in the park and feel invigorated! Exercise always fills my head with great ideas!
Try seven new recipes. During the pandemic, my husband Bob and I have been enjoying cooking more than ever! This year, I want to shake it up with some new dishes. I recently tried making Chicken Piccata, it was easy and delicious! This recipe will definitely be a keeper for our weekly meals.
Learn a new skill. I love the feeling of accomplishment when I learn something new. Last year, I learned how to do edit videos and to update my Word Press website. This year, I want to learn how to use Canva and create beautiful graphics.
Read at least 10 new books. I love to read, but I frequently go down the rabbit hole, otherwise known as the internet, and I forget to make time for one of my favorite relaxation activities, reading a good book.
Learn a new game. I’ve been playing Mahjongg with friends for the past 10 years, even during the pandemic we play together online. It’s fun, but I need a new pastime. This year I’d like to learn a few new card games.
Visit Scotland. I’m hooked on a series on Netflix called Outlander. It’s based on novels by Diana Gabaldon. It’s action-packed historical fiction that takes place in Scotland. The scenery, the characters and the story are so compelling. I can’t wait until the pandemic is over so I can tour this beautiful country!
Meditate more consistently. I’ve been dabbling with meditation for years, but I’m not consistent. Even 5 minutes makes a big difference in my mood and my awareness. I just have to put it on my schedule and do it!
Update my Promobizcoach.com website. I’m always looking for ways to make my Promobizcoach.com website better and of more value to industry sales professionals. This year I’ll be creating a Promo Biz Success Kit with tips and tools to help promotional products professionals quickly and easily grow their sales while saving a lot of time and effort!
Present more educational webinars. I’m a life-long learner and enjoy teaching and learning. This year, I plan on presenting more webinars to help promo sales professionals sell more in today’s world! You can listen to my most recent free webinar, How to Re-Energize Your Promo Biz and Make 2021 Your Best Year Ever at my website.
What about you? What would you like to do, learn or accomplish this year? Write your own list and if you would like to share it, send me an email or post something in the comments box.
Here’s to your success in 2021!
