Gildan Donates to Relief Efforts for Fort McMurray Fire Victims

Gildan announced that it is donating a large collection of clothing items, including T-shirts, underwear and socks to evacuees of the Fort McMurray fires. The donation, with a retail value of more than $400,000 is being made to the Edmonton Emergency Relief Services Society (EERSS) which has established the necessary infrastructure to receive the shipment and deliver the items to the people displaced by the devastating forest fires.

β€œOur thoughts are with the residents of Fort McMurray and Northern Alberta who have been forced to flee their homes, leaving everything they value behind,” said Glenn Chamandy, president and CEO of Gildan. β€œOne of the pillars of our company's corporate social responsibility program, Genuine Gildan, is to be supportive of the communities where we operate, and as such, we are pleased to be able to assist Canadians who find themselves in this difficult situation.”

Under the Company’s Gildan Gives program, Gildan has announced that it will match monetary donations made by any of its more than 600 Canadian employees towards the relief efforts.

4imprint Awards 222 Q1 'one by one' Promotional Products Grants

More than 200 charitable organizations received promotional products grants to support awareness, fund-raising, volunteer recruitment and retention, education and betterment projects in the first quarter of 2016 as a part of 4imprint's expanded  "one by one" charitable program, which now awards two organizations with $500 promotional product grants each business day.

According to 4imprint, first-quarter grants will help:

β€’ Encourage Participation – The Humane Society of Greater Kansas City ordered imprinted Round Reflector Lights to put on pet collars to encourage their clients to walk their dogs.
β€’ Celebrate a milestone – Also-Known-As, Inc., a nonprofit that reconnects international adoptees to their cultures through cooking, ordered logoed aprons to commemorate its 20th anniversary.
β€’ Support programming – The Community Healthcare Network (CHN) uses imprinted Vivid Color Measure-up Cup Sets to help individuals living with diabetes improve their health.
