Keystone Mint Producing Pope Francis Medallions
Keystone Mint of Folcraft, PA has been selected to create the official Pope Francis antique bronze medallions for the Papal visit to Philadelphia, September 26 and 27.
The medallions are the creation of two sculptures. On one side is the portrait of Pope Francis done by Miriangela Crisciotti, the Rome-based Vatican artist. On the reverse side, the World Meeting of Families logo was done by Bruno Malone of South Philadelphia.
The bronze medallions are die struck, antiqued and buffed by hand. The can be purchased in the World Meeting of families website, shop.worldmeeting2015.org and various locations throughout the city.
Pro Towels Expanding Factory
Pro Towels is investing more than $1.7 million in an expansion project and expects to create 50 new jobs over the next five years at its Abbeville, SC facility.
Last month, Pro Towels announced the acquisition of the Vancouver-based Kanata Blanket Company, as well as plans to partially relocate Kanata operations into the existing 300,000-sq.-ft. Abbeville County Pro Towels facility, which is located at 234 Industrial Park Road in Abbeville. To accommodate the increase in production, the company will expand its building and invest in new machinery.
The expansion project is projected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2020. Hiring for the new positions is anticipated to begin in mid-2016.

CPSC Chair Elliot F. Kaye to Speak at the Product Responsibility Summit
Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) Chairman Elliot F. Kaye will be joining the PPAI Product Responsibility Summit later this month in Bethesda, Maryland. Kaye will address Summit attendees on Wednesday, September 30, as the luncheon speaker.
